CRCAM direct debit: what is it?

By going through your account statements on paper or online, you have noticed an unknown direct debit under the heading CRCAM. What is it about ? What organization is hidden behind this acronym? What is CRCAM?

CRCAM is the acronym of the Caisse Régionale de Crédit Agricole Mutuel. If you see a heading bearing this name on your account statement, this means that you have taken out an insurance contract with Crédit Agricole.

What is the CRCAM direct debit?

The CRCAM comes in different types of insurance. The name of the insurance company with which you took out the contract does not appear in the title of the direct debit. To find out the exact origin of the transaction, you should therefore contact a Crédit Agricole adviser in your region. To inform you, he will ask you for an identity document as well as your CRCAM number or identifier.

How to cancel?

Since the Hamon law, you have the option of terminating your insurance contract at any time, without waiting for an anniversary date. However, some CRCAM insurance contracts require you to wait for an expiry date. These are life accident guarantees, death insurance and legal protection.

The procedure to follow to stop the CRCAM direct debit is to send a termination letter. It must be a handwritten letter mentioning your identity, contract number, full contact details, date of birth and contract number. Also include a copy of your ID and contract with the letter.
