Types of payment terminals

How it works ?

A payment terminal has three main functions, which have made it a tool that is increasingly used in commerce and financial transactions. The transaction takes place in five stages.

Receipt of payment from the customer

The cashier records the amount of the purchases in the device, and the customer inserts his bank card into the terminal. The types of software integrated into the terminal determine the type of bank cards accepted by the TPE. It is advisable to install a payment terminal equipped with the EMV system. Verification of the transaction

The integration of the transaction in your TPE

After validation of the transaction, the amount paid is available in the terminal. It joins all the operations carried out during the day. The stock of the transactions will be transferred to the account of the business at the end of the day, thanks to an electronic system.

The transfer of bank card transactions is done electronically using a secure IP address or by 3G Sim card, from the terminal to the bank’s server. This is what is called the “payment gateway”.
