During cancer season, we are likely to focus on family and household matters. However, as we move into Leo season, that energy changes, allowing us to step into a more creative, daring, and energetic space.
Leo is ruled by the Sun and this is the time to show off, make courageous decisions, and bathe in our fullest expression.
Guided by the Sun, we may want to explore, experience, and let our self-confidence shine through.
The Lion season 2021 offers beautiful energies to do just that, and it’s a time when we can find ourselves seeking adventure, connecting with our passions, and feeling creatively inspired.
Season of Leo offers us some expansion, encouraging us to shine our inner flame, give in to our desires, and take the time to play.
One of the main features of the season is the Leo new moon which falls on the Lionsgate 88 portal on August 8th.
This portal is a magical moment of high energy and vibration, and is related with the star Sirius, which is considered our Spiritual Sun. Having a New Moon on this already auspicious day amplifies the effects and brings a burst of supercharged energy.
The Leo season 2021 also brings two full moons of Aquarius. These two full moons will work in sync and bring about changes that will help fuel and inspire spiritual growth.
Let’s take a closer look at the key astrological dates for the 2021 Leo season and what to expect.
July 22/23 – Beginning of the Lion season
From the watery season of cancer to the season of Leo, we’re going. Leo is a fire sign and now is the perfect time to showcase ourselves, move forward with creative projects, fuel our passions, and work with the creative and life-giving energies of the Sun.
July 23 – Full Moon of Aquarius
It is the first of the two full moons of Aquarius. This Full Moon is located 1 degree from Aquarius, just at the starting point of this zodiac sign. Anything that catches our eye under this Full Moon is probably only part of the story, as we may have to wait until the second Full Moon of Aquarius to make sure we get the full picture. Chariklo, the spiritual medicine asteroid is very active on this full moon, indicating that we can be guided on a sort of healing journey right now.
July 28/29 – Jupiter retrograde enters Aquarius
Jupiter entered Pisces on May 13, then went retrograde on June 20. When a planet goes into retrograde, it travels backwards, retracing its steps through the zodiac. Jupiter retrograde has now reached the point where it will leave Pisces and return to Aquarius. Jupiter now retrograding through Aquarius will change the energetic flavor very slightly. We can focus on our community, the people we choose to surround ourselves with, projects related to technology or the search for new forms of self-expression and freedom. Jupiter first entered Aquarius late last year, so we may also find ourselves revisiting themes that were present from December 2020 through May 2021.
July 26 – Opening of the Sirius Rising / Lionsgate portal
Sirius is one of the largest stars in our galaxy and has been revered and followed by ancient cultures around the world. Sirius is considered to be our Spiritual Sun and a star of high frequency energy that has the potential to advance and expand our consciousness. For the past few months, Sirius wasn’t visible in the sky, but now he’s slowly coming back, heading towards the highest point in our night sky. As Sirius begins to rise again, it represents the opening of the Lionsgate portal.
August 8 – Lionsgate Portal 88 + Leo New Moon
It’s the most magical day of the season and it brings the full activation of the Lionsgate portal, as well as the new moon in Leo. A strong Leo energy is offered to us, which you can use to set bold and courageous intentions for yourself and for the collective.
The Lionsgate Portal 88 relates to the rising of Sirius, the Sun being in Leo and the numerology of 88. It represents a time when we can work with the energies of the Sun and Sirius, to activate and enhance our spiritual DNA.
In 2021, August 8 also brings the Leo New Moon. This New Moon could bring powerful new ideas to the surface. Uranus, the planet of awakening and revolution is also active at this time, bringing a shift in consciousness or perhaps rapid changes in our world.
August 19 – Retrograde Uranus
Uranus enters retrograde, joining Jupiter, Saturn, Chiron, Neptune and Pluto. Uranus is the planet of awakening. As it travels in retrograde, we may receive deeper spiritual insights into things that have happened in the past. As Uranus is currently retrograde in the sign of Taurus, on a global level we may notice issues regarding agriculture / food supply, humanitarian efforts, and technology-related industries.
August 22 – Full Moon of Aquarius
This is the second Aquarius full moon of the year, and it takes place at 29 degrees from the zodiac sign. This Full Moon carries beautiful energy and has the potential to expand all that was brought to our attention on the first Full Moon of Aquarius on July 23. Due to the gentle energy of this Full Moon, anything that comes up is likely to be mellowed. Jupiter, the planet of abundance and expansion, is also very active at this time, indicating a powerful time to manifest prosperity in all areas.
August 22/23 – Season of the Virgin
Depending on your time zone, August 22 or 23 marks the end of the Leo season and the start of the Virgo season.
