Cleaning the soleplate of the iron: 10 tips for easy cleaning

Marseille soap

After unplugging your iron, and while it is still lukewarm, apply soapy water. Use a non-abrasive cloth or sponge.

The lemon

In case of yellowed sole, use a cloth soaked in lemon juice. Then, dry with a soft cloth. You can also rub half a lemon directly on the soleplate of the iron.

white vinegar

Effective in many areas, white vinegar can also be used to clean an iron. Soak a cloth in white vinegar and a pinch of fine salt. Then wipe the soleplate with a soft cloth or use a paper towel.

And to clean the holes in the steam soleplate, use a cotton swab previously moistened with white vinegar.

emery cloth

If your iron soleplate is burned, use your oven cleaner using a cloth moistened with the product. Be careful, never spray your oven cleaner directly on the soleplate.

To know : take your precautions with a Teflon iron soleplate. Never use the abrasive side of a sponge that could scratch it. Likewise, do not use a sponge or cloth that has not been thoroughly wrung out.
