The Primary Health Insurance Funds, in Brest, are divided into two distinct poles. The main buildings are located at 1, rue de Savoie.
The second is a building located in the city center, it is a reception annex for people who would have trouble getting to the first address. It is located Square Marc-Sangnier.
The main CPAM
Located at 1, rue de Savoie, it is open Monday to Friday inclusive from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is the head office of the CPAM in Brest, so you can be received if you have any questions, but appointments must be made in advance, on the CPAM website.
How to make an appointment?
To make an appointment with a CPAM adviser, you must create an account on the website of the Caisse Primaire d’Assurance Maladie, at this address: https://www.ameli.fr/.
If you don’t have an Ameli account yet, don’t panic! Just create it yourself, whenever you want. To do this, go to the I create my Ameli account section. Enter the corresponding information: your name, your social security number which appears on your vital card, your date of birth and the postal code of your place of residence. When this is done, you can then make an appointment directly online with an advisor. On the home page of the Ameli website, there is a link called make an appointment. Just click on it and follow the instructions.
How to get to the CPAM by public transport?
You have made an appointment, you simply want to submit a document or ask to see an advisor? There are several solutions to go to your nearest CPAM even if you do not have a car.
The city of Brest has a developed network of bus lines, and two of them have a stop near the CPAM rue de Savoie! You can take Bibus line 6 and get off at Kerhallet station. You will then be about 300 meters from the Caisse Primaire d’Assurance Maladie. The second option is to take Bibus line 1 and get off at the Patinoire (Brest) stop. Again, you will only have 200m to go to reach your destination.
Downtown CPAM
This annex, located at Square Marc Sangnier, is close to the port. It is open from Monday to Friday inclusive from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. without interruption. Please note, however, that this appendix does not present a postal address. For all your letters and delivery of documents related to Health Insurance, you must put the address of the main CPAM, which is as follows: Caisse Primaire d’Assurance Maladie du Finistère, 1 Rue de Savoie, 29282 Brest CEDEX.
How do I get to Square Marc Sangnier?
If you arrive by train, it is very easy to get there on foot from the train station. When you leave the Place du 19e Régiment d’Infanterie station, go straight ahead and take Avenue de l’Amiral Réveillère. Arrive rue Voltaire, at the end, turn left. You will come to a crossroads with rue Jean Macé on the right, take it. Following it, you will arrive at the square Marc Sangnier located on your left. In total, there is less than a kilometer away, or 15 minutes on foot.
You can also take tram A and get off at Siam station. You will only be about 250m from the CPAM. Finally, you can also get to the CPAM by the city’s bus network. Take line 1 and get off at the Français Libres (Brest) stop. However, you will still have nearly 600m to walk to reach Square Marc Sangnier.
