In order to offer its inhabitants a quality and local cultural service, the municipality of Brest has set up a network of 8 media libraries installed in strategic locations, near schools or Maisons pour tous for example.
The media libraries offer Brestoises and Brestois of all ages the opportunity to consult nearly 700,000 documents in different media: books, CDs, DVDs, newspapers, magazines, sheet music, digital books on e-readers, game consoles, etc.

All media libraries in the city of Brest network are equipped with access for people with disabilities (automatic doors, lifts, etc.), free Wi-Fi and a drop-off box for documents.
The network also offers a home delivery service for seniors and people who are unable to travel.
A digital portal is accessible 24 hours a day to reserve or search for a document, consult the press, films, etc.
Media libraries offer a wide range of collections suitable for blind or visually impaired people (large print books, audio books, audio description DVDs, etc.).
Two librarians are trained in French Sign Language to welcome and offer deaf or hearing-impaired people a collection adapted to this handicap (subtitled DVD, etc.).
